The Construction Excellence Awards

The Construction Excellence Awards were launched in 2000 and since then have grown into one of the most instantly recognised, respected and hotly contested awards in the Northern Irish construction industry. The kudos of winning an award continues to grow each year.

The aim of the competition is to promote excellence and to give recognition to those companies who are achieving the highest standards of construction.

The awards provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase the best of the construction industry in Northern Ireland and to celebrate the industry's achievements. They also highlight the significant economic and social contribution made by the local industry.

There are fourteen award categories under the headings of housing, general construction, infrastructure and quality performance. There is a bonus award for Achieving Excellence in Partnering and of course and Overall Award for the most outstanding entry.

Judging for the awards is carried out by an independent panel of distinguished judges with a wide range of expertise and experience.

The Awards process starts with the Call for Entries in late spring. This is followed by the Announcement of Finalists around the end of June before judging site visits take place during July and August.  A Showcase of Finalists event is held in early September which starts the build-up to the Gala Evening in early October where the winners are revealed amidst a fanfare of celebration and entertainment.
