Briefing Paper on the Construction Industry in Northern Ireland

The Federation has been conducting a series of high level meetings with the First and Deputy First Ministers, the Finance Minister and the Environment Minister.

We have been lobbying Ministers on the urgent need to release more construction projects in the public sector and to encourage banks to introduce liquidity in to the housing sector.

As part of our lobbying exercise we have produced a briefing paper on the size of the construction industry and its importance to the local economy.

Members are encouraged to meet with their local MLAs and to use this briefing paper to seek their assistance in bringing forward the construction work in the public sector, and to lobby the banks to increase liquidity for house builders.
