1. What is involved in the audit?
NVIR-O-CERT will carry out an annual audit operating on a 3 year cycle of full audit, verification audit, verification audit.
 
The audit consists of three parts:
  • documentation audit
  •  management interviews
  • site audit
The firm’s compliance with environmental legislation and best practice is audited.
 
For the Full Audit the company must provide the required documentation to the auditor for review in advance of the audit day.
 
The audit will last approximately one day (potentially longer for larger companies, shorter for very small companies)
 
Unannounced site audit audits will be undertaken by the auditor panel on an occasional basis. The spot audits will be focused toward higher risk contractors and will seek to verify a range of essential performance standards.
 
 
2. How soon can I go for audit?
You can apply for audit as soon as you believe you are ready.
 
 
3.          Do I get graded or is the NVIR-O-CERT audit a pass/fail assessment?
Unlike Safe-T-Cert, NVIR-O-CERT will not grade each certified company. The NVIR-O-CERT audit will be a pass/fail assessment.
 
 
4. Who will carry out the audits?
Your NVIR-O-CERT auditor will be a person who is at the top of their profession. All auditors must meet the highest professional standards as follows:
 
  • Qualifications – Auditors must either be a full member of IEMA and an IRCA lead auditor (environmental), or an IEMA Lead Auditor.
  • Experience – Auditors must have at least 5 years experience in the construction industry
